On Invention Day, April 18th every year (commemorating the establishment of Japan's first substantial patent law, the Patent Monopoly Act, which was promulgated on April 18th, 1885), METI and JPO give the “Award for Excellent Corporation Utilizing the Intellectual Property Rights System” to corporations which have most effectively taken advantage of the intellectual property rights system and contributed to its development.
TERAOKA earned this Award for the following reasons in this fiscal year.
- TERAOKA pursues intellectual property rights that are readily enforceable and contribute to its business.
- The IP division is under the direct control of the Chairman and President, and has the initiative and speed to discover and apply for inventions.
- TERAOKA utilizes patent information in sales and enforces its patent rights to expand its market share.
