DIGI France Introduces the First All-In-One Bulk Solution to Auchan in Luxembourg
Auchan, leading French retailer with over 2000 points of sale in 12 countries globally, has implemented a pilot program with DIGI to streamline its bulk department with the goal of improving product rotation and preserve product freshness for their customers.
This initiative leverages DIGI’s All-In-One Bulk System that eliminates the need for customers to tare their container – greatly reducing shopping time. Shoppers can also view product weight and price in real-time enabling them to dispense only the amount they need.
Auchan selected a prominent shelf at the aisle head within its Kirchberg store to serve as the initial testing ground for bulk sale of Auchan’s high value per kilo items. The implemented 13 Units of the Hopper Scale and 4 Units of the Scoop Scale, seek to improve the self-service aspect of the bulk department leading to faster product sales, fewer near-expiring items, and reduce price markdowns.
This pilot program builds upon the success of Auchan's previous implementation of DIGI's e.Sense solution in the bulk department of Luxembourg’s Auchan La Cloche d’Orstore, with a product range of 60 to 100 items. Notably, this prior initiative resulted in a significant 60% reduction in price markdowns.
