In 2004, Teraoka's "NEW BALANCE FAIR" started in Sapporo, Hokkaido on May 26th, and continued in Sendai, Kyushu, Hiroshima, Nagano, Nagaya, and Osaka on July 21st and 22nd. We have had an average of 20% more Teraoka customers at each "NEW BALANCE FAIR" compared with those last year at this time. The main points that attracted customers were Teraoka's total line of equipment for retailers, from store front POS ECR registers to backroom prepackaging machines, DIGI new concept design scale printer SM-800 and ELEXY - transparent display. Teraoka always presents concepts new to the market. The customers visit us at NEW BALANCE FAIR to find their total solution from Teraoka. In September, NEW BALANCE FAIR was held in Niigata on 8th and 9th and just finished in Tokyo on September 17th at the Tokyo International Forum, located near Ginza.
NEW BALANCE FAIR, held at nine locations nationwide under the theme "Together with customers for 70 years" to show our appreciation to customers on the occasion of the 70th anniversary since founded in 1934, successfully finished on September 17th, 2004.

| The SM-880 in the center of not only DIGI booth but also IFFA |
IFFA 2004, one of the world's largest food exhibitions, was held in Frankfurt, Germany on May 15-19th, in the year of 70th Anniversary of Teraoka Seiko, Japan. IFFA, the leading exhibition mainly for butchers, draws over 50,000 visitors from around the world to see new technology and solutions in the food industry. Teraoka/DIGI group had a 120 m2 booth and exhibited a total solution for both retailers and food industrial customers.
In the retail area, DIGI's total product range was shown; from economic scales to high-end printer scales and prepack equipment, and the system using FTP communication was set up including Radio Frequency communication. The highlights among the products were PC based scales, the SM-800 and the SM-710 series system scales. Various types of the SM-800 models were shown, linked in system together with PC application software WinDigi. Many of visitors were impressed with the SM-800, its design and quality including the unique feature of the transparent display of the SM-880. The SM-800 series was also picked up by the exhibition press center and a leading magazine as an innovative and quality design product.
In the food industrial area, the range of solutions for the factory production line was shown, from wrapping to carton box labeling. New products included PC based indexers and manual weigh-labeling machines. In addition, the barcode verifier and the image recognition were shown. Those new products were very well accepted by the visitors as the solution in the food factories, together with the traceability function both on the DIGI machines and the software, WinDigi.

The theme "Caminando and Avlando'' (Let's walk and talk) at the 16th DigiFiter International Dealer Meeting

A.S. in Istanbul, an affiliate of Teraoka/DIGI group, has continuously developed their market success both on the low-end and the hi-end fronts in Turkey and neighboring countries.
On May 20-21, DigiFiter held the traditional dealer meeting in Antalya, a resort city on the Mediterranean Coast of Turkey. Some 30 business partners from all over the country, and DIGI distributors from Moldova, Azerbaijan and Northern Cyprus, participated in the conference held under the theme: "Caminando and Avlando'' (Let's walk and talk).
This ancient Spanish-Jewish saying was chosen by DigiFiter's General Manager, Onur Gunay, particularly for its undertone of ''resolving questions whilst moving ahead''. It fits well our long-standing relations both with Teraoka/DIGI and with our national and international dealers. We were also honored by the presence of Mr. Daniel Ang and Mr. Tomonari Koyonagi of Teraoka Weigh-System Pte. Ltd. in Singapore.
The "move forward'' will bring a sales record of low-end scales in 2004 reaching some 7000 units. As for the SM series, DigiFiter plans to sell about 1000 units by the end of this year.
 |
| At the meeting |
Two major retail customers have recently opted for DIGI scales: Adese in Konya, with 15 stores in Turkey, installed 150 units of SM series scales. Tansa , one of the largest chains, is very keen to the Wi-Fi concept as applied to the SM-500. Already 6 stores have been equipped and some 10 more are in the pipeline.
As the founder of DigiFiter, Mr. Arditti feels well surrounded by talented people of the DIGI family, of which we try to be a proud member.
